Questions Pet Parents Often Ask

We know trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and questions are completely normal. Below are some of the things pet parents ask us most often. If you do not see your question here, feel free to reach out. We are always happy to help.

1. What is included in a TamPaw pet visit?
Every visit is personalized to your pet and their routine. Depending on your pet’s needs, visits may include potty breaks, feeding, fresh water, walks (weather permitting), litter refresh, enrichment, companionship, medication reminders if needed, and of course, photo updates and visit notes so you know how everything went.

2. How do I know my pet is okay while I’m away?
We know leaving your pet with someone else can feel stressful, and communication matters. Every visit includes updates, photos, and visit notes so you can see how your pet is doing and feel connected while you are away.

3. What makes TamPaw different from app-based pet care?
We believe pets do best with familiar faces, consistency, and routine. Instead of care feeling random or transactional, we take time to build trust and get to know your pet. Our goal is to become someone your pet feels comfortable with and recognizes while giving you dependable care you can truly count on.

4. Are you insured, bonded, and licensed?
Yes. We believe trust, professionalism, and safety matter when someone is caring for your pet and entering your home. TamPaw is insured, bonded, and licensed because your pet’s wellbeing and your comfort matter to us.

5. Are you Pet CPR & First Aid certified?
Yes. We are Pet CPR & First Aid certified because we believe being prepared matters. While we always hope to never face an emergency, we want to be ready to respond calmly and responsibly if something unexpected happens.

6. What happens in an emergency?
Your pet’s safety always comes first. If something unexpected comes up, we communicate quickly and follow the emergency contact and veterinary instructions we review together during onboarding. We will always keep you informed and do what is best for your pet.

7. My work hours are unpredictable. Can you still help?
Absolutely. Life gets busy, and schedules are not always predictable. Many of our clients work long shifts, changing hours, travel often, or simply have demanding schedules. We help keep pets cared for and on routine, even when life feels hectic. Walks are always weather permitting, and during Florida rain or extreme heat, we adjust based on what is safest and most comfortable for your pet.

8. Do you help people with demanding schedules or long work hours?
Yes. Many of our clients work in healthcare, aviation, law enforcement, remote work, or simply have demanding schedules. We understand that long days, changing hours, travel, and busy lives are real, and pets still need consistency. That is where we come in.

9. Can you help remote workers who are home but busy all day?
Absolutely. Working from home does not always mean having extra time. Between meetings and busy schedules, many remote workers find midday visits helpful for potty breaks, walks, enrichment, and helping pets stay on routine during the day.

10. Do you help during vacations or work travel?
Yes, absolutely. Whether you are traveling for vacation, work, or just away for a few days, we help pets stay comfortable by keeping as much of their normal routine as possible while you are away.

11. What if my flight is delayed or my schedule changes unexpectedly?
We understand life happens, schedules change, and travel delays happen. While availability may vary, we always do our best to help accommodate unexpected changes whenever possible.

12. What happens if it rains or it’s too hot for a walk?
Living in Florida, we know weather can change quickly. Your pet’s safety always comes first. Walks are always weather permitting, and during heavy rain, storms, or extreme heat, we adjust based on what is safest and most comfortable for your pet. Depending on the day, visits may include shorter potty breaks, enrichment activities, sniff games, playtime, or extra companionship instead of a full walk.

13. Do you work with shy, puppies, seniors, or reactive pets?
Yes. Every pet is different, and we take the time to get to know their personality, comfort level, and routine. Whether your pet is shy, a senior, a puppy learning structure, or needs a little extra patience, we adjust our care to what helps them feel safe and comfortable.

14. Can you care for multiple pets?
Absolutely. Many of the families we work with have multiple pets, and we tailor visits based on each pet’s individual needs and routine.

15. Can you take my pet to the vet or groomer?
Yes. We offer pet transportation for veterinary visits, grooming appointments, daycare drop-offs, and pickups when scheduling allows.

16. Can you help if I run out of pet supplies?
Yes. If you are away, busy, or in a pinch, we may be able to help with pet-related essentials such as food, litter, medication pickups, or other supplies depending on availability.

17. Do you serve my neighborhood?
We currently serve select areas throughout Tampa Bay, including Westchase, Citrus Park, Oldsmar, Safety Harbor, South Tampa, and surrounding communities. If you are unsure, just ask, we are always happy to see if we can help.

18. Can you help seniors keep the pets they love?
Absolutely. We understand how important pets are to seniors and the comfort they bring. We offer support designed to help senior pet owners continue enjoying life with their pets, whether that means walks, litter refresh, transportation assistance, or simply an extra helping hand when needed.

19. How do I get started?
Getting started is easy. Reach out to us, and we will schedule a complimentary Meet & Greet so we can learn more about your pet, routine, and how we can best help.

20. Do you offer boarding or overnight care?
Yes, for select pets and situations. We offer in-home pet sitting, overnight care, and limited boarding depending on your pet’s needs, personality, and availability. Our goal is always to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and as close to their normal routine as possible while you are away.
